Entrepreneurship & Empowerment

EMPOWERMENT

Swami Vivekananda believed that working for any social change require massive energy and spirit. Hence, he requested the youth to amplify both their mental energies and physical fitness. What Vivekananda wanted from the youth were ‘muscles of iron’ and ‘nerves of steel’. Today’s India can do anything and everything through youth and women in the society. They have the power to meet any challenge with the collective consciousness and effort . Empowerment is the process of getting stronger by limbs and heart by gaining power in himself.Getting a job is not the only solution to meet the financial demands nowadays. Rather youth and women should concentrate towards self-employment and fight the financial challenge by getting empowered with proper training and skill to look into a bright future.

Keeping these in mind, one of the most important element of Peerless Skill Academy is to ensure that the students, who are mostly women, youth and underprivileged without formal higher education, get empowered to find the right vocation for self employment or entrepreneurship. To that end we have picked up courses which will provide such opportunities in semi urban and rural society. We are trying to create a skill ecosystem around the centres where by we would attempt to connect the skilled resources with the service providers or producers so that they can smoothly gets integrated to the demand pool of skilled resources. We are in the process of tie up with such service providers/ producers/ distributors/ intermediaries/ business houses so that they get these skilled resources suitable for the works / servicesthey would be supposed to deliver.

ENTERPRENEURSHIP

"Live and let live" – It’s a process of symbiosis. In other words, the process can so evolve which may be beneficial to both the owner and the service providers as well. When any youth or women gets involved into self-employment process through micro enterprise and gets the scope to connect to a market, they get confident to own a business a business thus getting a chance to earn.

This would be a WIN-WIN proposition. If distributors/ intermediaries or producers gets engaged with these breed of specially trained people, they get duly skilled and trained resources who are ready to deliver. Upliftment of the society, thus is possible trough creation of economic development in rural and semi urban areas through enhanced per capita income . Rural economy has much to deliver and in a country like ours there are ample scope for increased consumption and enhanced livelihood generation in vast rural area.

We, therefore aim to provide entrepreneurship opportunities and picked up several courses aimed at that direction as well as chosen centres where there are such opportunities. Our training methodology is fully aligned to empower them to learn the trades with all the tools and equipments necessary backed by able trainer and facilities to deliver. We would specially train them with extra curricular skills like Entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy, IT literacy, basis english, soft skills, marketing etc. We would also connect them with market supply chain and facilitate their integration with it.
WE NEED SUPPORT OF INDUSTRY/ MARKET OPERATORS/ DISTRIBUTORS/ ENTREPRENEURS/ BUSINESS HOUSES/ SERVICE PROVIDERS TO COLLABORATE WITH US AND ASSIST US IN DEVELOPING SKILL ECOSYSTEM.

SKILL ECOSYSTEM

An important element of PSA operating model is facilitating creation of skill ecosystem around some centres so that entrepreneurship and self employment is accomplished as a market absorption process. Both PSA and RKM will work together to build such system involving key stakeholders. The broad framework is a three-prong strategy and will be the key differentiator for PSA. It also aims at making skilling a real value creation for the society.

At some centers there is a ready market available for absorption of some skills due to trading/ distribution/ production facilities in the hinterland of such centres. To take an example - the garment making hub around some centres. The suggested model is to mobilise some trainee who intends to have entrepreneurship (particularly women/ tribals/ under privileged), honing the related skills in them as per market demand in addition to what curriculum demands, forming a self help group (SHG) out of them after they pass out, organising bank loan for them, organising tie up with distributor/ manufacturers / etailers etc so that products of SHGs are of desired standard and are picked up by them. This will be Win-Win for both. These can be made applicable for several trades locally.

There are several centres where students after passing out get engaged into production of handicrafts/ handloom / food processing and such other trades. But they find it difficult to push their product in organised market. While RKM help them through some of their own outlets, but these are not adequate from sustainability angle. PSA will endeavour to build in a forward integration mechanism by creating an eco system for facilitating distribution of such produce through organised sources.

There are some trades which are intended to make the participants to be self sufficient. There are location specific demand spectrum for such resources. PSA will institute a mechanism to have connect with such organisations/ corporate/ traders so that these resources are engaged in the market place.
A team of dedicated resources will be put in place to get involved into three major activities - industry connect, demography survey and placement.
