SKILL ECOSYSTEM

An important element of PSA operating model is facilitating creation of skill ecosystem around some centres so that entrepreneurship and self employment is accomplished as a market absorption process. Both PSA and RKM will work together to build such system involving key stakeholders. The broad framework is a three-prong strategy and will be the key differentiator for PSA. It also aims at making skilling a real value creation for the society.

At some centers there is a ready market available for absorption of some skills due to trading/ distribution/ production facilities in the hinterland of such centres. To take an example - the garment making hub around some centres. The suggested model is to mobilise some trainee who intends to have entrepreneurship (particularly women/ tribals/ under privileged), honing the related skills in them as per market demand in addition to what curriculum demands, forming a self help group (SHG) out of them after they pass out, organising bank loan for them, organising tie up with distributor/ manufacturers / etailers etc so that products of SHGs are of desired standard and are picked up by them. This will be Win-Win for both. These can be made applicable for several trades locally.

There are several centres where students after passing out get engaged into production of handicrafts/ handloom / food processing and such other trades. But they find it difficult to push their product in organised market. While RKM help them through some of their own outlets, but these are not adequate from sustainability angle. PSA will endeavour to build in a forward integration mechanism by creating an eco system for facilitating distribution of such produce through organised sources.

There are some trades which are intended to make the participants to be self sufficient. There are location specific demand spectrum for such resources. PSA will institute a mechanism to have connect with such organisations/ corporate/ traders so that these resources are engaged in the market place.

A team of dedicated resources will be put in place to get involved into three major activities - industry connect, demography survey and placement.
